my favourite things/ a new day

the sun
casting her warmth
shadows bursting with bright light
or is it
the brightness
casting off the darkness
all the forest growth
alive
vibrant
with the fire
of the morning

the Son
casting His warmth
shadows dispelled
His brightness
casting
out the darkness
our lives
alive
vibrant
with the fire
of His dawning

morning
has
broken

a new day

my favourite things

  1. So beautiful! I love the thought of the Son's brightness casting off the darkness. Our trees here are starting to burst their leaves out, the wisteria is blooming, and everything just seems brighter, newer, and full of life again. I love spring. A time to cast off shadows!!!! Thank you for this!

  2. Delightful, Susan . . . I am warmed just by reading this. Very light snowfall here today with wind tinkling the chimes. The sun has only rarely been shining through in this last week. I usually step outside when it shows its face. Thankful that the Son shines even when the sun is hidden.

    1. warmed... that is exactly how I was at seeing this morning's marvel after a few overcast and windy days! Chill gone... Spirit revived! May I go forth in His love...

  3. Dear Susan,

The fire of the morning. I don't usually associate fire with the morning, but yes, it is there. The fire has to be there or it would be night. And then, you turn this nature talk into a spiritual lesson and could it be that we need fire in the morning to dispel our shadows? to get the clear vision to set out into our day? to burn off the dross of slumber and get us steppin'?

There are so many applications here. My mind is spinning. Thanks for the ride, Dear Susan!

    1. I love the verses from Job... When God has tried me... I shall come forth as gold...
I must welcome the fire of His Spirit's work in my life... I am not afraid because I see how beautifully it has refined Him...the One who drank the cup for our sake.

  6. Sweet faith-filled fisherlady . . .there is something so special about how you write your poems. They don't preach at anyone, just reveal Him in such a natural way. So beautiful and real! God bless you as He bursts forth over you today!
